Short Film Projects
Many short film projects are underway. A new video has been published on the facebook.com/adventuringart and will soon be on Youtube in HD when finished color correction. All of the footage was shot with the Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera and a Lumix 14-45mm and an old Konica Macro lens at 57mm. Lots of new things are under way. I have been participating with another artist friend producing multiple projects at Art in Real Time www.artinrealtime.com in Nashville, TN. They are soon moving to the Dallas area. Many more updates coming soon! Check out the instagram.com/adventuringart as well for all the #inktober drawings from last month!

Trash Mandala (New)
This is a preview of our newest form of recycled art! These trash mandala were created from trash collected at BLM campsites in northern California and southern Oregon! Cigarette butts, soda cans, candy wrappers, everything went onto the canvas in some small way creating two large works of art. The trash was glued down and sealed in polyurethane forever. This is just a small segment of a much larger project. I have multiple monthly programs to fund my trash cleanups on my Patreon page!

Thanksgiving in the Desert (2010)
I will never forget that day in the desert with ole Wild Bill. A tale of giving. On the final Thursday of November 2010, I was stuck in the deserts of southern California. I still had the Jeep and was living on BLM land south of Joshua Tree National Park. I’d made a friend over the month or so I had lived out there, he was a man in his 50s named Bill. It was the end of the month. I got paid on Fridays and had used up the rest of my funds on.. whatever. Good ole Bill was a veteran and was awaiting his monthly installment coming at the beginning of December. We began the day with nothing. I awoke early that morning to Bill’s van pulling onto my patch of land just south of the desert mountains where they dip off into the coachella valley just before dropping off of the high land plateaus. We were “desert rats.” Before I could sit up Bill had jumped out of his van and was knocking on the Jeep. “Hey man, you got any cigerettes? I’ll make coffee!” We went back to his camp in the van, I had a […]

The Appalachians (2011)
I have arrived in the Appalachians! After days of train and bus riding, I’m here! In Asheville North Carolina. I took the Illinois Zephyr to Chicago, laid over for like 8 hours wandering the streets in the cold rain, took the Cardinal to Charleston West Virginia, and stayed with a couchsurfing.org friend. She was great! West Virginia must be the cool one cuz this was a very artsy “beat” town! Took the 8:20 AM all over the freakin united states until finally one of the places had a bus that went to Asheville! The plus side to this was that the buses seemed to all go through the mountains one way or another. We climbed and descended probably 4 times before I finally got here! The security guard here has done the Appalachian Trail all the way through twice! This hostel is amazing! So far I’ve eaten quail egg, bamboo shoot, string mushroom, tofu, and cajun boiled peanuts! We are off to an amazing start! Bring on the fried chicken and collard greens!! I was greeted by the city on Twitter, and Swiss Army mentioned my adventure seeing as that pack is pretty much all I packed. “Oh it’s got everything in there! […]

The Coming Winter (2011)
The site is launched, the totem pole is finished, (gettin photo’d soon!) I’m almost finished with my paintings, I’m training my legs, I got to see alllmooostt everyone, and now it’s time to leave the Midwest. I am yet to get the Adventure Mobile, but I’m working on it! I am headed to the top of the Appalachian Mountains before I get anything, so I don’t have to worry about making it over! My experience with the automobiles I destroyed in the Southwest has taught me I might just be better off financially without one. It is time. I’m not sure what’s out there this time, I’m not going for inspiration for any old projects this time, I’m not really out seeking anything, but maybe a place to call home for a while, oh and food. I honestly don’t know what the hell I’m doing. I just know there’s more to do, and more to learn. The creatures keep showing me things so I gotta keep following them. I’m really anxious to see the Appalachians again, and to visit Topsail Island, a place, not exactly super special, but special to me. I may even get to care for some sea turtles!! There’s […]
